Locally owned Montana cannabis company earns six awards across flower, concentrates, pre-rolls and vapes
BOZEMAN, Mont. — Montana Kush earned six awards at the 2026 Best in Grass Montana competition, including a first-place finish for its Lemon Head sativa flower and five additional honors spanning flower, concentrates, pre-rolls and solventless vapes.
The six awards include:
1st Place — Sativa Flower
Lemon Head
2nd Place — Hybrid Flower
Face Off
3rd Place — Indica Flower
Motorbreath
2nd Place — Concentrates
Sour Tangie Live Resin Badder
2nd Place — Pre-Rolls
Paradise Sunset
3rd Place — Rosin Vapes
Papaya Melonz Rosin Bar
For Montana Kush, having six products recognized across several categories is especially meaningful because Best in Grass is judged by cannabis consumers. Products are evaluated anonymously through Judge Kits, putting the final decision in the hands of the people actually using them.
“Winning six awards across this many categories is something our entire team can be proud of,” said Bryce Hulet, president and co-owner of Montana Kush. “It’s not just one product or one part of the company being recognized. These awards represent the people growing the flower, making the concentrates and vapes, producing the pre-rolls and putting in the work every day.”
The results were particularly strong for Montana Kush’s cultivation program. The company placed in all three major flower categories, led by Lemon Head taking first place in Sativa Flower, along with Face Off taking second in Hybrid Flower and Motorbreath taking third in Indica Flower.
Montana Kush has been locally owned and operated since 2009, with roots reaching back to the early days of Montana’s medical cannabis program. The company opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Helena in 2017 and today cultivates its flower in the Gallatin Valley while operating six licensed dispensaries across Montana.
“We’ve been doing this for a long time, and we’ve watched Montana cannabis change tremendously,” said Chad Chambers, co-owner of Montana Kush. “What hasn’t changed is that we’re still here in Montana, growing our own flower and working every day to make products we’re proud to put the Montana Kush name on.”
The six Best in Grass awards add to a milestone year for Montana Kush and provide recognition across nearly every major part of the company’s production program.
For a Montana company that got its start in 2009, the awards are another reminder that even as the industry grows and changes, Montana Kush remains rooted where it started.
